PiiGAB 820 - Extender / Converter / Repeater

PiiGAB 820 is a powerful and flexible data collection unit for M-Bus systems with a wide range of applications. As an EXTENDER, it drives up to 250 loads, and together with the PiiGAB 900 Gateway, the system can be scaled up in principle unlimitedly. As a CONVERTER, it seamlessly converts between M-Bus Serial and M-Bus IP. When there is a need to amplify the M-Bus line, the PiiGAB 820 can be used as a REPEATER.

Extender

PiiGAB 820 is the flexible solution for both small and large data collection projects.
The PiiGAB 820 manages up to 250 M-Bus loads, and with a flexible licensing model, you can choose the number of loads that fits your needs today — with the option to upgrade later by acquiring a new license. The PiiGAB 820 can operate both as a master and a slave, and it supports reading M-Bus Serial as well as M-Bus over IP. This allows the device to be placed anywhere in the building, without the need to install it next to a PiiGAB 900 Gateway or another master unit.

Converter

PiiGAB 820 functions as a converter between M-Bus Serial and M-Bus IP. Through its M-Bus slave port, the device can also act as an M-Bus slave towards other masters, making it easy to integrate into existing systems and networks. Perfect for both new installations and expansion of existing systems.

Repeater

PiiGAB 820 makes it possible to extend wired M-Bus communication by up to 10 kilometers per unit, ensuring stable data collection even over long M-Bus lines. The PiiGAB 820 also features a built-in filter that eliminates communication disturbances on the M-Bus line.

COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MASTERS

PiiGAB 820 is compatible with all types of M-Bus masters available on the market. Thanks to its independence from any specific master, it also enables enhanced driving power in M-Bus systems connected to PLCs or DDCs

Dashboard

Get a clear overview of the device and bus line status directly in each unit’s dashboard, accessible via the built-in web interface. From there, you can also perform trouble- shooting and modify device and network settings.

Transparent kommunikation över nätverk

PiiGAB 820 enables transparent communication with all types of meters that comply with the M-Bus standard. By converting the electrical interface from M-Bus Serial to M-Bus IP, measurement data can be easily retrieved by, for example, SCADA systems directly via the network.
