PiiGAB's 20 year-old anniversary
PiiGAB was registered as a company 20 years ago, and during all these years the main focus has been industrial communication. In most recent years the focus has more or less been concentrated on data collection from different kinds of energy equipment. As a result of this the first M-Bus driver for Citect was written in the year 2000/2001. In comparison with other types of drivers this driver was the most complex when pertaining to data types and amount of code rows. I spent so much time on this driver due to a gut feeling telling me that I was on to something. The fact that I trusted my gut feeling gave PiiGAB the edge and the right timing to enter the energy efficiency/saving market. After this driver was developed we also developed our own hardware in order to be able to read energy via a network. PiiGAB has also developed an OPC server as well a general data logging module for OPC. We are looking upon the future with excitement as today energy saving is a very “hot” topic. We have a few product releases scheduled for the fall of 2009, which definitely offer new solutions when it comes to developing new energy measuring methods which leaves to cost and environment savings.
